Shafer Bird review of Halligan’s

Halligan’s is one of the most under-rated BBQ  joint in RVA. Other worthy BBQ joints in no particular order include; Alamo, Buzz & Ned’s and Q but back to the point of this post. When my sandwich arrived it was definitely larger than I had expected, but I should have known The Chief was going to live  up to its name. The Chief consists of thin sliced London Broil covered in caramelized onions, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, horseradish mayo and a touch of the coveted Halligan sauce. This sandwich had top choice meat with a moist, smoky flavor. It was superb but messy and I was covered in sauces by the end  of the meal.
