Shocktoberfest on Saturday

NOT a picture from Shocktoberfest. Just an excuse for me to post pretty girls with lots of beers. One can dream can’t they?

From Richmond.com.

The fourth annual Shocktoberfest will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expect to see authentic German and Hungarian dancing from the Hirshjagger Bavarian Mountain Dancers — complete in lederhosen and dirndl skirts. Performances at noon and 2 p.m.

Music from Joe Enroughty and his Royal Virginia players with a tuba solo from Roger Comley (oompah), soprano from Sharon Rae North and tenor from the city of Richmond’s own George Bolos.

There will be a sing-a-long to “The Sound of Music” at 1 p.m. (“The hills are alive… With the sound of music!”)

Plus German and Hungarian dishes from Halligan’s, GeeGee’s, Bernie’s Baked Goods, Tri-City Concessions, Cross Concessions, Baja Bean Company. Expect to sample a variety of dishes like knockwurst, bratwurst, potato pancakes, German potato salad, smoked pork chops, stewed apples, noodles and cabbage.

Plus Bud, Bud Light, Legend’s and Shock Top Belgium White will be available for purchase with a valid ID.
