Richmond.com has the details on some improvements to this often overlooked RVA park.
Runners, walkers and cyclists are drawn to this area of the riverfront too, and improvements are on the way. In Spring 2013, the park is planned to get a $450,000 face lift, courtesy of the Virginia Capital Trail, which is continuing develop the park entrance new trees and grass, landscaping, canal stones and an electronic kiosk with everything to do in Richmond and along the 52-mile trail.
The upgrades have already begun. On Monday, five benches were placed along Dock Street beside the trail, several which were purchased by or dedicated to local cyclists who have been advocating for the trail for years — like Bud Vye, advocacy director for the Virginia Bicycling Federation.
