The Amazing Raise kicks off on Wednesday

September 19, 2012 marks the first day of The Amazing Raise – a fast-paced 36-hour online giving challenge hosted by The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia.  You can help the James River Association win one of the many incentive prizes to support its efforts for a cleaner James River!

Here’s how you can help: Be ready on Wednesday, September 19th at 6:00 a.m. to donate $50 to JRA through our website thejamesriver.org.  Combine your gift with others and make a huge impact.  Spread the word to your friends and family and help us reach our goal!  Be one of the first 50 donors who give $50 or more and receive a one-year membership to JRA!

Here are just a few of The Amazing Raise Prizes:

• 50/50 Challenge - The first 15 organizations to receive $50 or more from 50 unique donors on September 19th will receive a grant prize of $2,500!
• Most Unique Donors - The organization with the most individual gifts of $50 or more will receive a first place prize of $20,000!
• Lunch Break - September 19th 12:00 p.m. -2 p.m. – $1000 awarded to the organization that receives the most donations during this time period.
• Midnight Madness - September 20th 12:00 a.m. – $1,000 awarded to the organization that receives the donation made closest to midnight!
• Long Distance Donor - $1,000 awarded to the organization that receives the donation made from the furthest distance, based on verified billing address.
