RVA Food Truck Court tonight in Shockoe

Tonight food trucks will gather in Shockoe to serve up some tasty morsels. Every Tuesday and Friday from 6-9 p.m. trucks will gather at  2512 E. Main, in the same lot as Ronnie’s Ribs, Wings and Other Things.  Tonight is the debut of this location and is the result of the food trucks no longer meeting at the Virginia Historical Society. To add a little controversy to the proceeding the food trucks are in the process of breaking out into two camps. On one side there it Patrick Harris owner of Boka Tako and on the other is  GrowRVA founder Karen Atikinson. The reason given for the split is a conflict in management styles.  Richmond Magazine.com has the full story on the split and complete schedules for both sets of food truck courts. No list of which trucks will be where.

We’re trying to build community partnerships with entities here – places to go and things you can do with your families,” she says. The GrowRVA courts will also include music and wine and beer tastings, Atkinson adds.

Harris, meanwhile, says, “Our events are consistent and weekly. The vendors know they can rely on us and we will deliver, so we won’t have a problem getting people signed on.”
