Woman robbed after her car breaks down

A woman whose car had broken down was robbed at knifepoint in Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom area Monday night.

The victim was not injured in the robbery, which occurred about 11 p.m. in the 2100 block of Dock Street.

Richmond police Capt. Yvonne Crowder said the victim told police she was confronted by what appeared to be a homeless man who brandished a knife and took $5 from her before fleeing east on Dock Street.

A detailed suspect description was not available.
