Partial stairway collapse at Crowne Plaza

Richmond building inspectors are on the scene of a partial stairwell collapse at a downtown parking deck which left one person injured.

According to Richmond Fire officials, the incident happened around 8 a.m. Friday at the Crowne Plaza parking deck, near 5th and Canal Streets. One victim was treated for injuries.

Building inspectors are now trying to determine the extent of the damage and if the structure is safe.
