The Richmond Drink
Local author Beth Brown has a mission that I wholeheartedly endorse.
I’ve been on a quest to create a “quintessential Richmond” drink that the city can be proud of. Louisville has the Mint Julip, Savannah has the Savannah Cocktail, New Orleans has the Sazerac, and as a proper Southern city, Richmond needs it’s own cocktail, too.

Beth has created two drinks. The Canal Dragger for the locals and the Patrick Henry for the RVA tourist. Next time you’re at your local watering hole ask for one of these fine concoctions. If the barkeep gives you a blank stare, share the recipe. Only with all of us working together can we give RVA a drink identity beyond PBR.

Learn more about Beth Brown on her website or check out her books that take a look at the darker side of Richmond, Richmond Macabre and Wicked Richmond.
