I think the legal, invited, public murals are great. I support the G40 and the Street Art Festival.
HOWEVER, we need to recognize the toll that illegal graffiti vandalism is taking on our City. The James River Park is getting covered in it. I recently heard Ralph White say that is the worst he has ever seen it. Jackson Ward was recently on the news for it. Other historic neighborhoods are getting covered in it. The police have made a few arrests, but I am afraid it is not enough and the vandals are just getting bolder and bolder. Please, let’s see widespread condemnation for this pest.
