Some River, Development, and Manchester Thoughts
I mentioned Open Source the new show on WRIR and I even listened to it on Friday. I had great plans to write up a nice summary and impress you all. Well as you know the best laid plans of mice and editors often go astray. Fortunately local River Guru Phill Riggan at James River News Hub wrote up three great summaries.
- Rachel Flynn talks James, Downtown Master Plan on Open Source. She has lots of interesting things to say about the development of Echo Harbor. One item not mentioned in Phil’s write up, is the positive step of getting rid of so many one-way streets. Which in theory will make the river more acceptable. Also mentioned was the development of the hotel at 14th & Cary. Still going ahead and still going to have a courtyard with a monument.
- Flynn not a fan of Floodwall’s ‘ugly grey rip-rap’ The question that brought this question about was asked by yours truly and I was impressed with her answer and agree 100%.
- Waters of James a little more clear after Open Source
